Install Guide
How to Install Your Glueless Wig
No glue, no tape, no stylist required — here's how to get a natural, secure fit in a few simple steps.
What You'll Need
- Your Kailinya wig
- A wig cap (optional but recommended for extra grip and comfort)
- Edge control or gel (optional, for baby hairs)
- A rat-tail comb
- A mirror
Step 1: Prep Your Natural Hair
Braid or flatten your natural hair close to your scalp (cornrows or flat twists work well). This creates a smooth, even base and helps your wig sit flat and secure. If you have shorter or thinner hair, a wig cap in a shade close to your scalp tone will also help blend the lace for a more seamless look.
Step 2: Check the Adjustable Straps
Before putting the wig on, locate the adjustable straps inside the cap (usually near the nape). Loosen them fully first — you'll tighten to your exact fit once the wig is on your head, not before.
Step 3: Put the Wig On
Starting from your forehead, place the wig on your head and align the front lace with your natural hairline. Pull the wig back gently, making sure the combs inside the cap catch your natural hair (or wig cap) for extra hold.
Step 4: Adjust the Fit
Once positioned, tighten the adjustable straps at the back until the wig feels snug and secure — it should feel comfortably tight, not tight enough to cause discomfort. This adjustable fit is what makes our wigs glueless: the combs and straps do the holding, not adhesive.
Step 5: Customize the Hairline
Using your rat-tail comb, gently part small sections along the front hairline to blend the pre-plucked baby hairs with your natural edges. If needed, use a small amount of edge control to lay the baby hairs and soften the front line — go easy, a little goes a long way with HD lace.
Step 6: Style As Desired
Your wig comes pre-styled, but feel free to part it, curl the edges, or add your own finishing touches with light heat (always with a heat protectant).
Removing Your Wig
At the end of the day, simply loosen the adjustable straps and lift the wig off from the back to front — no glue removers, no oils, no waiting. Store it on a wig stand to help it keep its shape for next time.
Tips for a More Secure, Natural Look
- For extra hold without glue: a soft wig grip band adds security for a full day of wear without putting any pressure or adhesive on your natural edges.
- For the most seamless blend: take your time customizing the parting — this is what makes the difference between a wig that looks "worn" and one that looks like it's growing straight from your scalp.
- First time wearing a wig? Practice the install a couple of times before an important day out — like anything new, it gets faster and more natural with a little repetition.
